AHM Builders is officially certified as an MWBE in both New York State and New York City. This means that our company is majority-owned and operated by individuals who meet specific criteria related to ethnicity (Black, Hispanic, Asian-Pacific, Asian-Indian, or Native American) or gender (women).
The purpose of MWBE certification is to support and empower small businesses. To qualify, owners must meet certain criteria, including limitations on net worth (less than $15 million after deductions), primary residency in the business’s operating area, a direct ownership stake (not solely through a holding company leasing long-term assets), and retirement savings below $750,000. Additionally, certified businesses cannot have more than 300 employees.
